Home

So, I signed up for a free online course “developing your eye”. It’s a photography course available on WordPress platform. The first assignment was “home” themed. The beauty of it is that it’s unconventional, not necessarily a home… home is where your heart is, right? So I let my imagination do the thing, which enabled a new perspective and my lens captured things I related to home… not some mere building or a room… not fancy but pieces of the reality I live in… this bar for example where I come lots of times for a cup of coffee and raki 😋.

Shopping at Fishop

Fishop is a fish restaurant in Tirana, one of the moment’s hot spots, so that’s where I could be found yesterday at this time.

The place is very cozy and welcoming, not some ridiculous fancy restaurant, where a certain dress code is mandatory. Nope, it was very sweet with a cute, simple furnishing, a bit dark as a matter of fact, but still nice. It’s pretty clear that the guys who run the place want to stand out by making “Fishop” a real brand. I think they are succeeding, because it’s becoming huge in popularity. Well done guys! Thumbs UP.

quiet moment when we were about to leave

Due to the raising popularity, in case you want to go, you will necessarily need to book before hand. On Sundays they are open till 7 pm. If you think that going during some kind of happy hours you will be lucky enough to find some free table, you are dead wrong. We had booked the day before for a table, at 4 pm, which is not exactly your usual time of having lunch right? Yet, when we got there, it was full. No exaggeration, it was FULL.

Education oh oh oh

I don’t know if you have already seen the movie, but anyway I hope I am not spoiling all the fun. Oh man, it was fun. Absolutely hilarious and somehow extreme. I mean the situations (the fun parts) were a bit over the board… maybe that’s what made it unbelievably hilarious.

I love this scene!

Notes:

1. This is not a real review. It’s a general brief of the plot so it’s easier for me to pass on the crucial topic I want to discuss.

  1. There is a lot of swearing and cursing in the movie. I don’t mind, but maybe little kids watching it… hhmmm I wouldn’t be that sure about that. I mean, I used to watch movies when I was little and no movie discrimination was involved in the process. Nothing wrong happened to me, except my dirty mind, the swearing (I can swear in lots of different foreign languages and I am very eager to learn some more.  Proud of my parents and how they raised me! It might sound sarcastic, but it’s not. I mean it. Ok, enough rambling and moving on!)

Horrori i vitit

Unsplash thanks @Beth Teutschmann

A look Back

writing
Unsplash Thanks @Aaron Burden

Moving on from my yesterday’s rant about the book draft I conceived at 16, I must say there were lots of interesting, “ancient” stuff in my laptop from my teenage years.

It’s wonderful that nowadays you have the cyber space to log in and share your views and opinions with the rest of the world. At the time, there was nothing of the sort. Yeah, I wish there was, maybe I wouldn’t have stopped writing in the first place, or maybe I would have, who knows…

But I really feel lucky that, at least I had a screen and a keyboard. In case technology had never been involved in my writing process, there would have never been a writing process in the first place.

Mayor: You Are Pathetic

I was very eager to hear your hhhmmm how should we call it, interview, explanation dear Mayor. Or is it, coming clean? Which it makes me laugh from deep bitterness, as it wasn’t coming clean at the least.

This national TV show was another advertisement to your demagogic and filthy propaganda.

Rolling Hill of Death- Sharre

It’s a story, a horror one, but make no mistake this is no fictional story. It’s so true and painful that anger shakes my bones…

In one of the corners of Tirana, you find Rolling Hills luxury residences. It makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? If New York has its own Upper East or West Side, LA- Beverly Hills, of course that Tirana wouldn’t be left behind.

Ironically, there is another opposite corner of the city,  where you find another hill. This is a small hill, Sharra’s Landfill. Recycling companies, operate here to gather, collect, divide and disassemble urban wastes. We are talking about 300.000 tons/year of wastes and according to statistics only 20-22% of this amount can be recycled. This is a place, where nearby inhabitants go to work, not to starve to death as they have no other means to earn money. They have surrendered to the misery and such conditions as they have no other choice. No safety policies! No safe gears to work with or equipment! No insurance! Only exploitation.

Lately this hill has been rightfully labeled as the “Rolling Hill of Death”.

Weird Pleasant Interview

school
Unsplash thanks @Ryan Tauss

Differently from the previous one:  Part I and Part II this one was really cute 😀

Since I have been talking about interviews these last couple of days, part I and part II I am happy to share with you a brief but pleasant one. Keep reading to find out more. 😉

I was waiting for a friend of mine, in “Myslym Shyri” street, next to the Adidas shop , and while scrolling on some random things over my phone, a bunch of kids approaches me.

Saying they were adorable is an understatement, they were so cute and polite and shy which made them even cuter, oh and believe me, I am not the kid lover type… I really don’t know how to behave around them, but that’s a complete different story and these were school children so we are cool.

How do I schedule?

A photo by Dustin Lee. unsplash.com/photos/jLwVAUtLOAQ

It’s not always that easy to keep up with our busy lives.

Work schedule. School or university schedule. Personal life schedule and so on. So many errands to run and sometimes it feels so little time, that we barely manage to breathe.

This post is not on how to schedule or what to schedule. Our lives are so dynamic that there is no way we can make a fitting guide to meet all our needs. What works fine for me today, won’t work tomorrow, the important thing is to have a few tips to make scheduling easier.
