This post is about my so-called evening beauty routine. I stress, these steps and products work perfect for me but someone else may find other actions/products (also from other brands) more suitable. It makes perfect sense. Personally I have been using Yves Rocher products for almost a year and a half and I find my skin flawless, moisturized plus very smooth. My choice is the Hydra Végétal line, as it is the right one for my skin type, normal to combined. The main feature of the line is that it moisturizes my skin without making it too shiny or oily. The products contain particles that capture moisture in order to naturally pamper your skin cells.
So besides the golden rule, getting rid of your make up before going to bed, there is a whole after process to it, but essentially yeah you would need to start from that.
First of all if I have been wearing make up during the day, cleaning starts with pouring water on my face, not too cold, not too hot, as water temperature is key. Then I start washing it with soap. This way I can instantly take off most of the make up.
Merely washing my face with soap is not going to make it. Know that there are still residues of make up on my skin and dirt as well, specially in those little corners that are a bit tricky to wash, right where my hairline starts for instance. So in order to take that off, I use hydrating cleansing milk, which also helps with the hydration and if I am also wearing eye make up, eye make up remover it is then.
After that, I would go for a splash of water, but I have replaced it with micellar water, applying it with a cotton pad. This is very good as it still cleans and hydrates your skin. I am obsessed with having my skin perfectly clean. It’s true that micellar water, is somehow a substitute to water and soap and the main point of using it, would be cleaning, moisturizing all in one with no need for additional products. I know, but from my own experience, with just micellar water… hhmmm nope, it didn’t feel right, specially when heavy foundation or heavy eye make up or water proof mascara is present. However to clean and moisturize your neck and cleavage is absolutely perfect.
Twice a week I apply the Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal cream mask, which is a go-go moisturizer. It’s very easy to use. You apply a layer of it all over your skin, you leave it for 5 minutes and then you can just clean it off with a cotton pad. It can be used once or twice a week.
Last but not least, Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal eye cream, please! I have dark circles.I’ve been taking care of them for a while now. Fortunately I am starting to feel way better as they don’t look as dark and as spread as they used to. Of course it’s not to be blamed on beauty products, the fault is all mine. In the past, I didn’t care at all and I ended up neglecting the right amount of sleep and rest, drinking plenty of water, eating of fresh fruit and vegetables. So yes, these variables have been included in the equation, quite regularly for some time now and I can see the improvement. However, eye creams certainly help with revitalizing and with the little wrinkles in the corners.
As I said in the beginning, this is what I do for now, I can clearly see improvements and my skin looks nice with a healthy glow. I have seen lots of tutorials on you tube and read so many articles on beauty gurus blogs and I’ve tried different things. I am not saying heavy experimentation, but yeah I have switched to different products from time to time or even methods and this is the one I find myself really comfortable with. But I can change a little bit my routine, as for example when I am not wearing make up, I use the Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal refreshing cleansing gel, to wash my face, instead of soap. Since I don’t need to remove make up, I can avoid being “aggressive” on my skin with a soap and use the mildest gel ever. Sometimes, before proceeding with the hydration, I rub a drop of essential oils’ mix all over my face, neck and cleavage. But what I describe in this post, are my basics.
Most important, lately I’ve been wearing make up on a daily basis, which is not good. I wish I could avoid it but due to work and meetings I haven’t been able to, otherwise I would go totally make up free. So given the circumstances of wearing it everyday, the cold weather, it’s pretty essential to keep my skin clean when I get back home, moisturized, nourished and well taken care of, at least as much as I can.
