So, I signed up for a free online course “developing your eye”. It’s a photography course available on WordPress platform. The first assignment was “home” themed. The beauty of it is that it’s unconventional, not necessarily a home… home is where your heart is, right? So I let my imagination do the thing, which enabled a new perspective and my lens captured things I related to home… not some mere building or a room… not fancy but pieces of the reality I live in… this bar for example where I come lots of times for a cup of coffee and raki 😋.
I think we all know the importance of being always tuned with positivity . Choose good examples in order to be the next good example to somebody else. Do I virtually sense, someone nodding? 😀
You deliberately choose to stay with people who support you, people who share the same values. And it might sound tricky, as when I say values it doesn’t mean having the same perspective and it really makes the difference, because you will be mentally challenged. When it comes to improvement, challenge is a key word. Cool!
The song is beautiful, the words make it even more because of the enormous, deep message they carry.
When you are safe in your little happy routine, in your cozy comfort zone, it’s so hard to take a step further. A step outside means you are out in the “dark”. It means you are vulnerable… well uncomfortable is the right word.
You know that there are lots of wrong things with your current comfort zone despite all the benefits. You know that at some point you will need to take that risk, not saying face life blindfolded but heeeeell you need to take a chance for yourself, when an “opportunity” presents itself. Most of the times others spend an eternity looking for one and never find it, or maybe they do, but are unable to overcome their fears. Thus, if you are looking, it means that deep down, that comfort zone of yours is not that comfortable after all.
I visited Podgorica this Sunday. Besides the pleasure of going to a place where I had not been before and finding a new reality, I also realized that I tend to underestimate the pleasure of little things that make me feel alive.
This means, that it really doesn’t matter where I go, what matters is to take the initiative to do things I like and that make me richer; richer with experience, knowledge, memories and last but not least also happy.
The little trip was tiring physically, but refreshing mentally… eehhmmm maybe not the right choice of words, but just trying to say that it was wonderful and it filled my heart with joy , especially Podgorica’s Niagara waterfall.
True, that I am not the typical outdoors person, specially when it comes to nature. I have underestimated nature’s effects on mood and thoughts, lately. Probably because, once it was much easier to connect with nature and because my days weren’t as busy with work and everyday errands I have to run, as they are now.
So today I feel like talking about incentives… Yeah…
You see the picture, of this book I am reading… Well, I am not reading it yet, but I plan to. I have read the other 2, “Think like a Freak” and “Freakonomics” written by the same authors, Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J.Dubner. I think, I messed up the reading order but who cares. Brilliant, amazing, mind-blowing books and very inspiring.
It’s wonderful that nowadays you have the cyber space to log in and share your views and opinions with the rest of the world. At the time, there was nothing of the sort. Yeah, I wish there was, maybe I wouldn’t have stopped writing in the first place, or maybe I would have, who knows…
But I really feel lucky that, at least I had a screen and a keyboard. In case technology had never been involved in my writing process, there would have never been a writing process in the first place.
“If you are going to whine about your shadow again, I will punch you!”
“Can you at least sew it for me? I remember someone did that once, can’t remember who though…”
“Wendy, it was Wendy you moron! You really have a short memory, or is it just an act?”
“Who’s Wendy? What’s with rolling your eyes? It’s creepy.”
I am going to keep it short, although luxury to some of us may give a lot to think about.
Simply put, to me, luxury is something you can’t afford just yet. And this axiom is not restricted to material well-being only, big part of it yes but not just that. Well it makes sense since wealth and richness is also in one’s mind and soul, right?
Where I live, to many of us some choices are considered to be luxurious ones.
The thing about Monday-s? All “hate” them. Almost…I don’t really, because I never was attached to week days. Besides, previously my part-time job, meant working on weekends as well, and my day off could be in the middle of the week. So the weekend was not really what you can call a sanctuary to me.
But I see, the usual ritual becomes the eternal deja vu repeating itself, every single week, that’s why I am writing this post, on how to deal with Mondays and how people Can’t wait for Fridays.
They say:”Dirty little secrets always come out!”. Now, truly don’t they? And the most important of all, noooow, don’t we all have some of those?
Despite, our efforts, sometimes walking in the sun and letting go of the dark side of the moon is really hard. We tend to find all kind of excuses and yet we get dragged again… Let’s face it, the dark is just an excuse itself, to justify our own behaviors…
So our cozy, comfortable, little rooms have those big, roomy closets, not for just our clothes to wear, but also keeping bodies and skeletons, don’t they?
